Cholla Wood

Cholla Wood is a fantastic and natural way to lower and buffer PH. It also has benefit for shrimps tank and shrimp love to graze for biofilm on the surfaces of the wood or hide in there while/after molting.

Soaking cholla wood is important because doing so removes excess tannins.

If the wood is not soaked beforehand, the excess tannins can otherwise darken or discolor the water  of the aquarium.

Cholla wood is a softwood and will eventually break down in the aquarium. 

Sterilizing Cholla Wood is important. Boiling the wood for 2-3 mins will definitely kill any bacteria that might get in your aquarium.

Cholla wood will help soften the water the same way peat or driftwood does by releasing tannins.
